Introducing SystmConnect

SystmConnect is the new online consultation platform that enables effective communication for patients. SystmConnect helps improve access and manage demand to our services.

Patients can currently use SystmConnect to request fit notes, make changes to personal details, submit medication queries and complete travel questionnaires as well as completing reviews for long term conditions such as asthma.

Flu Eligibility

You are eligible for a free NHS flu jab if you are:

Aged 65 or over (including those turning 65 by 31 March 2026).

Aged 18–64 with certain health conditions, including:

  • Asthma requiring regular steroids, COPD or chronic bronchitis.
  • Heart disease, kidney disease (stage 3–5), liver disease, or neurological disease (e.g. Parkinson’s, MND).
  • Diabetes, adrenal insufficiency, or a weakened immune system.
  • BMI of 40+ (morbid obesity).
  • Learning disability.

- Pregnant, at any stage of pregnancy.

- Other Adults:

  • Living in a care home or other long-stay care facility.
  • A carer, or living with someone with a weakened immune system.
  • Frontline social care staff without access to an occupational health flu scheme.

- Children:

  • Aged 2 or 3 on 31 August 2025.
  • All primary school children (Reception to Year 6).
  • All secondary school children (Years 7 to 11).
  • Children in clinical risk groups aged 6 months to under 18.
  • Children in clinical risk groups aged 18+ who are still in secondary education with special educational needs (SEN).

Covid-19 Eligibility

The focus of the programme is shifting towards targeted vaccination of those at highest risk of serious disease.

For autumn 2025, COVID-19 vaccination will be offered to:

  • adults aged 75 years and over
  • residents in care homes for older adults
  • individuals who are immunosuppressed aged 6 months and over

This represents a change from the autumn 2024 programme, which also included adults aged 65 to 74 and all those aged 6 months and over in a clinical risk group.
